This is a quick sketch of an idea for a small cabin on a tricky site in the mountains in Cascade, ID near the lake. This unique cabin design proposes a large glulam truss exoskeleton from which the small modern cabin would hang requiring just 8 pier footings and one central utility chase. This somewhat modernist house design allows the home to straddle the seasonal water drainage that runs directly through the center of site and to sit lightly on the landscape allowing the berry bushes below to continue their growth undisturbed.
