This is a quick sketch of an A-frame cabin home design stretching down a mountain hillside. The simple design concept behind this was to create a split level design grounded at a center point. The split levels would allow the home to move up with the site and rest on a pilon foundation. In the mountains, I always like the idea of touching down lightly on the site and leaving as much of the natural landscape in tact as possible. The split level plan of this home design concept fits so neatly under a large A-frame roof and would snuggle into its surroundings beautifully.
